Where were you born?
Houten, the Netherlands.
What kind of studies do you work on?
I work on studies using molecular fluorescence endoscopy and optical coherence tomography to image cancerous lesions.
Why did you want to do research in this field?
I hope to contribute to the improvement of gastrointestinal cancer treatment. In the future, I hope patients will be diagnosed sooner and treated less invasively.
What did you study?
I studied Technical Medicine at the University of Twente in Enschede
What relevant experiences did you gain during your study?
During my studies, I gained organizational skills by doing a board year and during my master, I did several clinical internships. The last one and my graduation project was about colon cancer and fluorescence guided surgery.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
When I am done working I like to run, listen to music or read.
