What kind of studies do you work on?
I focus on studies related to intra-operative fluorescence imaging, specifically aimed at improving margin assessment in tumor resections.
Why do you want to do research in this field?
I am particularly drawn to this field because of the exciting advancements in fluorescence imaging, which can significantly enhance a surgeon’s confidence during operations. I believe that improving the assessment of margin status after tumor resection has the potential to greatly impact patient outcomes and quality of life.

What relevant experiences did you gain during your study?
During my Bachelor’s thesis, I focused on the standardization of fluorescence imaging, which sparked my interest in this field. I was excited to return for an internship during my Master’s. In my other internships, oncology and optical guidance remained topics of interest, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence.
What relevant experiences did you gain in your prior career?
Working at the GP emergency center has thought me a lot about direct patient care.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
Road cycling, sailing and long-distance hikes.
